WAAAA! Alton announces the end of Good Eats?!

I thought there hadn't been as many repeats recently, and when I pulled it up on my Tivo, it was saying No Future Episodes.
So I pulled up Wikipedia.
"On May 9, 2011, Alton Brown announced via his Twitter that he is "retiring" the show after 249 episodes, and there will be three new one-hour episodes to be produced and premiered in 2011."http://blogs.ajc.com/radio-tv-talk/2011/05/12/alton-brown-ending-food-networks-good-eatshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Eats#The_End_of_Good_Eats

Yeah, saw that on something and was all sad faced. But they did say other things would be coming.
I think of it as a good run, lots of good stuff and now maybe they will release "THE ENTIRE GOOD EATS" as one box set.
Now that would be cool.
That would be awesome. I only have one box set, getting an all-in-one would be wonderful!
When I told my husband that there were no more episodes, he had the same reaction: "WHHHAAAAAAATTTTTTT?!?!?!?!"
Alton, you have crushed my soul.
I hadn't heard about that. Thanks for the info.
Alton nooooooooo D:
Well, all good things must come to an end, I too am hoping we'll get a box set out of this, at least.
Sad, but not that surprising. He probably barely had time to conceive new ideas for episodes, what with hosting ICA, Next Food Network Star, shilling for Welch's grapes...
I have no idea if we're going to get a Complete GE boxset, but we are finally seeing them released by season. One can only hope that FN will have the wisdom to do a big boxset with some goodies (like our own Dungeon Master, perhaps?)
Well, this explains why I don't see the reruns as often as I used to, and haven't been able to find new eps to watch for the past few months.
Hey, does anyone know if the older eps will get moved to the Cooking Channel now, like the re-runs of the original Iron Chef?
